Boise-based PlexTrac raises $10M for cybersecurity collaboration and workflow

New funding: .com/">PlexTrac, a , Id.-based software startup, raised a $10 million Series A round led by Venture Group and Noro-Moseley Partners, with participation from StageDot0. Total funding is $11 million to date. The tech: PlexTrac helps companies both with defending and eliminating threats, as well as their penetration testing, or simulated cybersecurity attacks. Its software aims to streamline reporting and collaboration. PlexTrac is one of many cybersecurity startups attracting more attention from investors, particularly with the acceleration of digital adoption amid the pandemic.

“By uniting red and blue teams on one platform, and developing deep integrations with existing infrastructure and tools, PlexTrac is bringing a software-enabled workflow to IT pros and security engineers who are looking for ways to work smarter and faster,” S. “Soma” Somasegar, managing director at Madrona, said in a statement. Leadership: The 25-person company is led by founder and CEO Dan DeCloss, who previously worked with the Department of Defense and held security roles at Scentsy, Anthem, Mayo Clinic, and Veracode. DeCloss founded PlexTrac in 2018. “Security professionals in all types of organizations are faced with unprecedented threats, but how they work has not substantially changed,” DeCloss said in a statement. “PlexTrac brings red and blue cybersecurity teams together in one workflow to build transparency and efficiency at remediating vulnerabilities and defending against increasingly sophisticated adversaries.”
